Lady of the Manor at Lords of the Manor

Lords of the Manor near Upper Slaughter is quite possibly the most beautiful hotel in which I have had the pleasure of staying. The scenic and windy country roads which lead to this Cotswold Manor are a pleasure in themselves. On arrival I was offered valet car parking, but elected to park myself in the hotel’s private car park. As I made my way to the hotel, I passed by archway and got my first extraordinary view of the breathtakingly magical garden.

My welcome at reception couldn’t have been more friendly and warm. Hanna led me to my room, called ‘Tracy’. I was taken aback by the size – the rooms are quite large here!

A huge bed with big puffy plump pillows was magnificently comfortable and the the beautiful garden view from my bedroom was framed by stunning grand curtains. Now that is a view to wake up to!

Once I was settled in, the fizzy elderflower drinks on the side was a very welcome surprise after my long journey.

The stunning roll top bath was calling me as soon as I entered the bathroom. Time to relax and unwind, especially with the L’Occitane products, and some relaxing melodies on the radio channel on the television. What more could I ask for?

I enjoyed the generous selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolates available in the room. The location of the hotel is about as peaceful as you can get and I had a restful sleep. What a pleasure to wake up to a garden view in the morning. Here’s another view once I was downstairs:

I then had breakfast to look forward to, and what an experience that was. Continental buffet breakfast, real fresh orange juice and a fabulous full English breakfast, served with silver cutlery. I felt like royalty.

I strongly recommend a stay at the Lords of the Manor. I will most certainly return.
