Pen-y-Dyffryn was built as a rectory in 1845 for an eccentric Celtic scholar and spiritual and mental refreshment are certainly high on the menu at this beautiful country hotel. With its quite magnificent setting almost a thousand feet up on the last hill in Shropshire and facing all the splendour of the Welsh mountains, the hotel offers a superb retreat from all the stress and bustle of everyday life.
