Tucked away within ten secluded acres in the village of Bepton in the undulating South Downs National Park, Park House, Hotel & Spa is a perfect example of the quintessentially English country house. Now run by the third generation of the O’Brien family, its relaxing home-from-home atmosphere creates an intimate and welcoming feel.
The bedrooms are all individually designed in an elegant English country house style and most have stunning views over the gardens and grounds. There are twenty one bedrooms in total, with twelve located in the main house, and nine in 3 adjacent cottages called South Down, Polo and Baytree. One ground-floor bedroom is also available for guests with well-behaved dogs.
In the dining room, Executive Chef, Callum Keir and his team source locally-based, seasonal produce as well as herbs, salads and soft fruits from the hotel’s kitchen garden to create varied and exciting menus offering outstandingly beautiful and tasty dishes such as spring chicken with morels, broad beans and truffle mash and turbot with lobster ravioli, asparagus, courgette & fennel.
Whiling away the hours is no problem here – in addition to the 6-hole 18-tee golf course, putting green, two traditional grass tennis courts, croquet lawn, bowls lawns, indoor snooker table, heated outdoor pool and sun terrace, there’s also a luxurious and intimate spa. The PH₂0 Spa facilities include a 15 metre mother-of-pearl indoor swimming pool with marble entry shower, spa pool, saunas, steam rooms, four treatment rooms and fitness studio. Nearby there’s a wide range of local walks, from a quick stroll around the grounds to more ambitious treks along the South Downs Way.
