Nestled in the Thames Valley between Marlow and Henley, Hurley House Hotel in Berkshire is a chic country escape with the character of a stylish country pub and amazing food to match.
The stunning Berkshire house has been built from scratch on the site of an 18th century pub, and no expense has been spared to create a slice of boutique rustic luxury. The design is first rate throughout: leather sofas, flagstone floors, brass chandeliers, rustic furniture, exposed brick, oak beams, a cosy wood burning stove – everything is perfectly thought out and harmonious.
The ten bedrooms are cosy and pristine, featuring calming cream, grey and beige tones. Each room is equipped with super-comfortable Hypnos beds, 1000 thread linen and furniture from I & JL Brown. Bathrooms feature freestanding tubs, Lefroy Brook fixtures and fittings and 800 GSM towels from Soak & Sleep.
One of the bedrooms opens onto a lovely private patio with a seating area – there really is no better place to rest after a day exploring the Thames Valley.
The Bar retains the welcoming atmosphere of a traditional English pub alongside the gourmet treats on offer in the restaurant. The food at Hurley House is seriously good, with top level ingredients sourced from local producers and farmers. There’s a fine selection of wines, both classic favourites and small producers, to go with your meal and there’s a nice selection of locally brewed ales and artisanal beer at the bar.
On warm days, make the most of the lovely garden and terrace with BBQ. For those hosting friends or family, private dining can be arranged for up to 28 people.
With easy proximity to Maidenhead station, Hurley House is not only within easy striking distance of London, it’s also perfect for exploring the best of the Thames Valley, including lovely riverside villages, Windsor Castle, Ascot, scenic spots for strolling and championship golf courses.
