With all that cosseting, it’s easy to work up an appetite. Fredrick’s Restaurant serves two AA Rosette-winning classic British cooking with continental influences in elegant surroundings. Another option is the informal atmosphere of the Wintergarden, which gives you all the sunshine from the garden alongside the comfort of underfloor heating. All the menus are served, so you can opt for anything from a gourmet dinner to something from the sandwich menu. In fine weather, a delicious al fresco lunch is also an option.

Fredrick’s may be only a short drive away from London, but it feels a like a whole other world with all the attractions of the Thames Valley nearby, including lovely villages, famous gourmet restaurants, Windsor Castle, Ascot, scenic spots for strolling and championship golf courses all nearby.
