The crenellated roof and curly open pediments to the windows make this 17th century wisteria-clad country house a particularly handsome one. The entrance hall, with its sweeping staircase and stained glass window, is breathtaking and sets the tone for what is to come. The interiors are the epitome of chic sophistication, blending contemporary simplicity with beautiful antiques and period features such as the elaborate plaster work on the Drawing Room ceiling.
The bedrooms are elegantly furnished and decorated. Some rooms feature luxurious free standing bath tubs – thoughtfully positioned either in front of the fireplace or the picture window. You’ll also find dreamy window seats affording magical views. All rooms are equipped with LCD television, digital radio with iPod dock, bathrobes, kettle with a selection of teas, ground coffee and biscuits and luxury toiletries.
The Head Chef sources his ingredients locally – with smoked salmon and kippers coming from the nearby fishing ports of Seahouses and Craster. Many vegetables and herbs are grown in the idyllic kitchen garden. Dining in the Hall’s elegant Ballroom is a wonderful experience and creates a sense of nostalgia for times past.
The perfect touring base, Eshott is located midway between Morpeth and Alnwick, ideally positioned for Northumberland’s breathtaking coast and beaches as well as the historic sites of Hadrians Wall and Alnwick Castle.
