Hope Cove is one of the most perfectly picturesque spots in the UK. This secluded hamlet is located around the headland from the bustling sailing port of Salcombe and is reached down a labyrinth of country lanes edged with lush, high hedges.
Cottage Hotel is situated in a prominent position above the horseshoe cove and sandy beach, which is strewn with a colourful collection of dinghies and boats. The coastline here is particularly spectacular with high cliffs, sandy bays and sparkling azure blue sea. The Cottage itself is a delightfully traditional seaside hotel: the staff are courteous and attentive, the bedrooms are immaculately clean and comfortable and many have balconies and stunning sea, and sunset, views.
Cottage Hotel has long had a good reputation for its food and delicious fresh fish is brought in each day from the Plymouth fish market. It’s great to see that this hotel has faithfully retained the much loved sweet trolley – which is laden with some great British favourites. There’s a lovely terrace too, where guests can enjoy an excellent afternoon tea. This is a wonderful hotel for all seasons and all ages. Another great eating option are the Lobster Pods – heated enclosed pods with comfortable seating and tables which accommodate 8 to 10 persons depending on the pod.
