A Visit to Heacham Manor, Norfolk

We received such a warm welcome upon arrival at Heacham Manor and were swiftly checked in by the friendly staff at reception and allocated the largest room in the House, The Manor Suite.  The Manor Suite, located in the Manor House, has a stunning king-size four-poster bed.  Tea and coffee facilities were available in the room together with the most delicious biscuits.  The Manor Suite has its own bay window with a view overlooking the front garden.  The comfy seating area by the bay window was the perfect space for us to enjoy our tea and biscuits after our long journey.

The Manor Suite

Heacham Manor has 13 rooms within the Manor House and 32 rooms in the Norfolk-style cottages adjacent to the Manor House, about 50 yards away. The characterful cottages are built using the attractive Carrstone, typically used in Norfolk’s historic buildings.  Each cottage has 3 bedrooms which can be arranged according to the guests needs.  The room on the ground floor is a “Cottage Suite” that has its own kitchenette giving guests self-catering accommodation and the comfort and feel of a home away from home, ideal for families with small children.  Each cottage can also be booked as a self-contained unit which is perfect for a group of friends or family. The Cottages are surrounded by gardens which are ideal for dog walking.

The Cottages

I was shown around The Mulberry Spa, which has recently been upgraded with the addition of the new Coyote Spa. Here you will find a luxury hot tub, a Monsoon Shower as well as a sauna and steam room.   You can enjoy a variety of beauty treatments including a host of facials, aromatherapy, hot stone massage, deep tissue massage, Thai Herbal massage and more. There is a relaxation room which offers itself as the perfect place to take a nap after a treatment.  The Mulberry and Coyote Spa are also available for private hire for parties!

The Thermal Suite, Mulberry Spa

The hotel has a stunning 18-hole golf course with two rivers and four lakes which would be a dream for any keen golfer.

The beach is only a 20 minute stroll through the golf course from the hotel.  Families staying at Heacham Manor are also welcome to use the facilities, such as the swimming pools, at the sister resort, Searles Leisure Resort.

Mulberry Restaurant

Dinner was a treat in the AA Rosette-winning Mulberry Restaurant, know for its use of locally sourced fresh produce and the presentation of its tasty dishes. The starter was a delicious traditional prawn cocktail.  My main dish was pork belly with crackling and the most delicious creamy mash and vegetables on the side. I went for a selection of cheese with chutney and iced grapes instead of dessert. A glass of gin and tonic was the perfect end to the day.  We will certainly be visiting again.
