The autumn leaves of red and gold are here at last, and October is the perfect time to take a walking break through some truly magnificent foliage.

On my recent trip to Ireland I was tempted by the marvellous scenery of Killarney National Park, which was visible in all its glory from my window at The Ross, a chic and stylish boutique hotel right in the centre of Killarney. Another favourite walking destination is The Burren, easily explored from the idyllic coastal retreat of Moy House in County Clare to the south, or from Glenlo Abbey, a luxurious estate with beautiful antiques and a golf course, just to the north in County Galway.
