After a fleeting early foretaste, the real summer weather is just around the corner, and now is the time to start thinking about which Summer and Autumn Festival to book in the coming months. In this week's newsletter, The Roxburghe Hotel and Golf Course is perfectly situated for both the Floors Castle annual Massed Pipe Bands Day and the Edinburgh Tattoo (both in August). Further south, Colwall Park is an ideal venue from which to explore October's Malvern Festival, Millstream Hotel and Restaurant near Chichester is well placed for various events at Goodwood, and Nunsmere Hall is recommended for those wanting to check out the Chester Summer Music Festival. One of the joys of the British Isles is that wherever you go, there will be a local festival to watch out for, as well as a Best Loved Hotel to make your stay special.
