Quote Best Loved to get the best dealThis stylish and lavish Victorian country house set in acres of parkland was built in 1870 for a wealthy Scottish gentleman and railway engineer. No expense was spared on the building's design. The stunning interiors range from the entrance hall's lofty vaulted ceiling and galleried oak staircase, to the boudoir with its hand painted ceiling, marble bar and fireplaces.
Each bedroom has a distinctive and different decorative style and commands impressive views of the grounds and countryside further afield. It is possible to stay in the room that was used by Queen Victoria in 1889. Indeed the original bath and antique bed used by Her Majesty are still available to guests. Recently all of the bathrooms were renovated, making some truly dramatic.
The restaurant is acclaimed for its food, including options for vegetarian and other diets, as well as an emphasis on the fresh and natural, marked by a regular change of menu. It possesses a restful, intimate atmosphere for dinner by candlelight - and when you're ready to explore, Pale Hall is a superb base for touring North Wales the beautiful surrounding area.
