It has to be said that there is something distinctively different about The Howard. The first impression is that it's reminiscent of the townhouse residences of the late 1800s - ultimately elegant and unobtrusive. This is evident from the most discreet of check-ins to the dedicated team of butlers (upon arrival, bags are unpacked and tea is served in the Drawing Room) and the Penhaligon toiletries in the bathroom. However, it is important to note that there is nothing old-fashioned about The Howard, and it is the result of considerable skill that the hotel retains this genuine traditional air whilst providing guests with the most up-to-the-minute facilities. All rooms are fully equipped with every modern convenience, including internet access points and an in-room entertainment centre which includes a variety of channels, movies on demand, internet access, radio, a music jukebox and hotel information. Some rooms feature freestanding roll-top bathtubs, Jacuzzis or power showers. The Howard's dining room, The Atholl, provides an unsurpassed five-star dining experience in lovely Georgian surroundings, but dinner can also be served in your room if you wish. The hotel has two private rooms ideal for holding small, high-level corporate events - in all, a truly spectacular pied a terre.
