Cadogan Hotel

Built in 1887 and situated on Sloane Street in the heart of London, The Cadogan offers a classic London townhouse setting and was stage to some key moments of the capital's cultural history - the arrest of Oscar Wilde took place in room 118 and the hotel was also home to Lillie Langtry, consort to The Prince of Wales, later to become King Edward VII. Recently benefiting from a full refurbishment, the accommodation is intimate and discreet - the 65 rooms and suites are cosseting, accented with a historical elegance, evidenced in antique furniture in mahogany and dark woods, rich velvets in greens and blacks and some original oils that punctuate a keen, opulent aesthetic. Service is attentive and intuitive without being obtrusive and, in keeping with tradition, Afternoon Tea is still served in the hotel's warm, wood-panelled, Drawing Room. The black and crimson marble-topped bar offers a range of bespoke cocktails and snacks. The hotel also has an exercise room with a range of gym equipment. Cuisine is provided by Langtry's Restaurant which serves a range of dishes derived from traditional British recipes - signature dishes include Beef Tea, Toad in the Hole and Lancashire Hotpot.
