Tigh Na Leigh(Alyth, Perthshire, UK) |

Tigh Na Leigh translates from the Gaelic to 'home of the doctor,' as it was exactly that in Victorian times. We simply can't prescribe a better remedy for the stresses and strains of modern life. Situated in the pretty town of Alyth, with stone bridges over the burn, this Guest House has five absolutely lovely modern rooms. Each has Freeview television, DVD players and supremely relaxing spa baths. Floorboards and fine Victorian period features have all been preserved, while you'll see a smack of modern times in the form of some rather cool pop art in the conservatory. Owners Chris and Bettina will entertain and make you feel right at home and their two very fluffy cats may come and admire you too. The place is all about a bit of TLC. The couple are excellent and inventive cooks, and their locally sourced or even homegrown ingredients are guaranteed to make the mouth water. Wandering out from the house to the northeast are the remains of a hill fort where Arthurian legend suggests Guinevere was imprisoned. Also not far are the castle at Glamis and 'smoky' Waterfalls of Reekie Lin.
