A stylish and sophisticated boutique hotel in a quaint Cornish fishing village

Opened in summer 2011, the Llawnroc is a highly stylish boutique hotel in the quiet, unspoilt fishing port of Gorran Haven near St Austell. The village is a characterful collection of tightly packed white washed houses, which tumble down to an old stone harbour and two beautiful sandy beaches. In stark contrast to its historic surroundings, the hotel's interiors are spectacularly contemporary. The colour schemes are very glamorous in black and gold and purple and silver and you'll find plush fabrics and sleek handmade furnishings. The overall effect is quite stunning and not necessarily what you might expect to find in this former smuggler's haunt. The bedrooms offer every luxury with the very best beds and high quality white bed linen. Each room is equipped with flat screen TVs, iPod docks and even PlayStations. The Llawnroc excel at little details such as the loose leaf tea and freshly ground coffee provided in your room. There's a sophisticated fine dining restaurant, open Thursday to Saturdays only, as well as a Bistro and Bar where you can sample seasonal Cornish produce such as hand dived scallops and fresh mackerel. There's also a lovely sun terrace where you can enjoy a drink or perhaps a delicious afternoon tea.
