Lake Country House is everything you could want a country retreat to be. An award-winning hotel in 50 acres of stunning landscapes, boasting large lounges generously furnished with incredible sofas, grandfather clocks, chess sets, cabinets and oil paintings, all complemented by large open fires. Every afternoon traditional Welsh tea is served in the drawing room. In the warmer months you can take the tea on tour with a stroll beneath the trees. Each individually decorated ensuite bedroom is accessed through a large open plan sitting room. Bedrooms have televisions, a selection of books and period furniture. If all that isn't enough to have you coat in hand already, Lake Country has the beautiful Kingfisher Spa located beside the lake where a whole range of health and beauty treatments are available, as well as a 15m pool, gym and coffee shop. The hotel has a two AA Rosette Restaurant serving artfully prepared contemporary Celtic dishes using locally sourced ingredients. And there's an extensive list of over 300 wines to choose from. Outside, on these massive rolling grounds you can go trout fishing on the lake or in the nearby Wye and Irfon rivers, play tennis, croquet or golf, go pony trekking or shoot clay pigeons.
