The Kings Hotel(Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire, UK) |

The Kings, Chipping Campden is the antidote to the myriad mediocre hostelries of the day. Glancing through the guest book, there are many comments about the welcoming hospitality and service, which truly is outstanding. The handsome honey-coloured stone townhouse stands on the town square and is popular with the locals - always a good sign. The award-winning restaurant, with its eclectic collection of tables, has an informal feel and plenty of atmosphere. The food is modern British which perfectly suits the age and style of the hotel and there are always at least a couple of local real ales on at the bar. Recently renovated, the bedrooms are spacious and tastefully furnished. Like the tables in the restaurant, there's an eclectic collection of beds too, including a wonderful sleigh bed. Striped fabrics in bold colours make quite a statement. The stylish rooms offer 'The London Collection' toiletries, as well as flat screen TVs and Wi-Fi. Chipping Campden is situated at the start of the Cotswold Way so is popular with walkers - but it's also a highly recommended base for touring the entire Cotswold region.
