The Kings Head Inn(Bledington, Oxfordshire, UK) |

At the heart of the pretty Cotswold stone village of Bledington, sits The Kings Head Inn on the village green, complete with stream and quacking ducks. Described by The Sunday Times as `The classic English country pub one always hopes to find, but seldom does', the Kings Head Inn is full of character with low ceilings, old oak beams and the original inglenook fireplace. The rooms are fabulous with a meticulous attention to detail. Go for quirky, quaint and charming above the 15th century inn, or a more contemporary feel in the quiet courtyard annexe. All of the rooms feature painted woods, great colours and lush fabrics. The bar is always well stocked with lagers, local ales, good wines and fine Malts. The landlord's famous Bloody Mary is a must! The menu is built on local produce including the family farmed Aberdeen Angus beef. Enjoy a home-made Steak and Ale pie or Devilled Lambs Kidneys next to a cosy log fire in the winter or luscious, hand-made fresh fishcakes in the cobbled courtyard garden. Note: minimum 2 night stay at weekends. A visit to Archie and Nikki's riverside inn, The Swan at Swinbrook, is also well worth the short drive.
