More About Hoste Arms
is no exception, located in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with a fascinating coastline populated by all sorts of interesting gems. In the centre of Burnham Market is the Hoste Arms, once frequented by Lord Nelson and now thriving under the ownership of Paul Whittome.
The hotel's modern-day renaissance is in part due to a well-established reputation for good food, and the menu revels in temptation. The original bedrooms are pretty and well-appointed, but it is the intriguing South African wing that needs a special mention here; with eight bedrooms, including the penthouse and the Zulu Suite, designed by Paul's South African wife Jeanne, there is something to lure every guest! While Paul continues his quest to keep it one of the greatest inns in the world and is constantly upgrading and bringing in new ideas behind the scenes, the day to day business is run by managing director Emma Tagg who has been at Hoste Arms since the early 90's. 'My aim has been to develop the Hoste to be the most popular inn in England, combining my love of people, food, drink, music and art', says Paul. What a success he has made of it!
