Situated in the heart of the South Downs National Park, the Angel Hotel and Bentleys restaurant offers a unique blend of fresh contemporary design, while paying respect to the heritage of over 400 years of history. This fine example of an English coaching inn has recently undergone a complete refurbishment, and now offers boutique style bedrooms with every luxury and comfort. Bentleys, serves some of the most delicious Argentinean steaks in the world. The chef searches out the very best of local ingredients such as lobsters and crab from Pagham and Selsey, pheasant from Bignor Park, pork from Hampshire and Angel sausages made especially by Cowdray Farm. Named because it served as Midhurst's Magistrate's Court until 1880, the ornate wooden fireplace still bears the court's coat of arms. The Angel is very popular for weddings, meetings, conferences and celebrations of all kinds. It is also ideally located to visit the many local events and attractions including the house, cars and racing at Goodwood, Cowdray Park's polo and ruins, Petworth's house and gardens and West Dean Gardens. Or, of course, merely step outside the front door into the heart of the South Downs National Park for some of the finest walking in England.
