More About Wind in the Willows
the Willows could indeed be the home of Ratty, Mole, Badger and Toad from Kenneth Grahame's famous novel. An early Victorian country house, the Wind in the Willows has retained all its original charms, including oak panelled rooms, traditional furnishings and open log fires. All rooms have private bathrooms and are individually designed and unique, filled with antique furniture and traditional décor. The hotel is renowned for its home country cooking - a three course dinner served to residents and their invited guests in the beautiful period dining room. The Peak District and Pennine Hills offer outstanding views with their distinctive landscape, limestone caves and picturesque reservoirs. There is also a fascinating choice of stately homes within the area. For the more adventurous, pot-holing, horse riding, gliding and boating are also available. Walkers and naturalists, however, will find the region a paradise. Wander the countryside and lose yourself in the area's quaint beauty and tranquil surrounds. You might even stumble into Toad Hall or the Wild Wood.
