Not too long ago, Kevin & Victoria Brazier took over the dwindling fortunes of the Elephant & Castle pub, set back from the small road that leads up to Grinshill a tiny hamlet just four miles from Shrewsbury. This area... More About Inn at Grinshill has some of the most beautiful walking in Shropshire and here in the shadow of Corbet Wood, we now find an inn that neatly fits the bill for lunch, dinner and delighted dreams after a day's hearty exploration. The inn has been brought thoroughly upmarket with clean lines and modern décor yet has retained a sort of soft country ambience in the details like large open fires, stone floors and good value food and drink. No surprise then that this inn is popular with locals and visitors alike. Rooms throughout the hotel feature both modern and traditional details, soft furnishings, comfortable beds and impressive LCD mirrored televisions. Guests may eat in the civilized environs of the restaurant or at the bar if tempted by the local chatter and the variety of real ales on tap. The restaurant serves up excellent food sourced from local produce, cooked with strong uncluttered flavours and delivered at a pace you can rely on. No hour-long waits for your main course here. Classic creations like grilled 16oz Dover sole, nut brown butter, house salad and new potatoes, ensure that you tuck into each course with gusto. Chef watchers will enjoy the kitchen which opens out into the main restaurant. Overall Grinshill is a better place for the return of its Inn. In winter a waist level log fire greets you, and that feeling of well being starts to glow!
