An oasis of civilisation in a wild, untouched landscape

Transport yourself to a wild and exciting Highland setting, where fabulous cuisine, luxurious accommodation and some of the most stunning landscapes in the British Isles all come together at Summer Isles. The rooms and suites are simple, contemporary spaces steeped in luxury, and are spread between the original three-bedroomed house, a lodge made of Norwegian pine, a stone croft and a small cottage. The restaurant, under the direction of Chef Chris Firth-Bernard, has earned itself a Michelin Star. Almost all you'll eat is from the rugged surrounding land or caught locally. Expect something like Summer Isles langoustines and spiney lobsters served in the shell, accompanied by a superior wine list. Summer Isles hotel is a stepping-stone to discovering the real outdoors. Staff can give you advice about fishing and walking in the area and there's even a boat called the Hectoria you can hop on to see the local seals and dolphins. If you're brave enough to face the heart-stoppingly chilly waters, there's a diving school too. Down the road from the hotel is the spectacular beach at Achnahaid. There are several coastal walks in the area, which has recently attained Geo Park Status. Simply sublime.
