Historic Lymington is an attractive town on the edge of the New Forest. It is home to the exclusive Royal Lymington Yacht Club and, with two busy marinas, attracts yachtsmen from across the globe. The area has a rich nautical heritage with both Nelson's shipyard at Buckler's Hard and Henry VIII's Hurst Castle close by. Stanwell House's handsome Georgian entrance is welcoming and full of atmosphere. The decor is an authentic effortless blend of old and new with the overall lasting impression one of stylish sophistication. Each bedroom is an 'original' and it's evident that a lot of thought has gone into creating something special for guests. You can choose from extravagant Four-poster rooms, Terrace rooms which open on to the garden and Georgian rooms which reflect the building's heritage. In the bathrooms you'll find luxury toiletries and, in some, roll top baths. There are two dining options here: the fabulous Bistro and Seafood at Stanwells. Both have excellent reputations locally and eating in is highly recommended. Their ethos is to create simple well presented dishes from the freshest local ingredients. This is a great base for those wishing to explore the New Forest, South Coast and the Isle of Wight.
