Idyllic Avonside setting in the Vale of Evesham

The Riverside Hotel is situated on the picturesque banks of the River Avon within an ancient deer park on the outskirts of Evesham. For centuries the fertile Vale of Evesham has supported many fruit farms and market gardens and is known as the 'fruit and vegetable basket of England'. Fittingly, the hotel itself is bordered by old orchards of apple and plum trees. The hotel has gained a reputation for its idyllic setting but the location itself is a great draw too. Shakespeare's Stratford, Regency Cheltenham and the pretty Cotswold villages of Broadway and Chipping Campden are only a stone's throw away - as are the M5 and M40. The bedrooms are all individually styled and many feature oriental beds and classical soft furnishings. Most of the bedrooms have wonderful pastoral views and a few have relaxing spa baths too. The restaurant has derservedly gained a great local following over the years. The menu is excellent and the ingredients largely locally sourced. As an example you could expect to enjoy something like local Evesham asparagus (when is season) with Hollandaise sauce followed by slow braised lamb shank. It's good to see that traditional apple crumble proudly features on the menu too!
