Only a few miles from Keswick and nestled in a stunning location below Skidaw and between Bassenthwaite Lake and Ullock Pike, Ravenstone Lodge sits amid some of the finest scenery in all the Lake District but remains far enough from the madding crowd to enjoy true peace and serenity. The building was originally a Victorian stable and its historic character is evident in the pitch pine ceiling, the cosy dining room in former coach room and the bar in the original stable stalls. The comfortable rooms and distinctively decorated are named after local natural highlights found in Wainwright's guide to Skiddaw. The hotel looks out onto beautiful views of the surrounding five acres of parkland and beyond towards Bassenthwaite Lake and the North Western Fells. The Restaurant focuses on the best of English cooking, and on the daily-changing menu you will find the best quality ingredients. In the warmer months, dinning in the conservatory is a treat as the view provides a magical accompaniment to any repast, and in the winter there is a traditional log fire burning in the cosy dining room. The elevated terrace provides a perfect vantage point for watching the Bassenthwaite Ospreys which often circle overhead between April and September. In addition to the charms of nearby Keswick, Ravenstone Lodge is perfectly situated for some of the finest walking trails in the Lakes and can used as a starting point for climbing Ullock Pike and Skidaw.
