The tiny conservation village of Worfield, nestling on the Welsh border in charming Shropshire countryside but just 15 minutes from the motorway, is home to a real gem in the Old Vicarage Hotel & Restaurant.

Originally an... More About Old Vicarage Hotel & Restaurant Edwardian vicarage, this historic hotel retains all the charm and elegance that characterise quintessential village life. Each of the bedrooms is named after a local hamlet, such as Claverly, Shipton, Chesterton and even Badger Dingle, where many of P G Wodehouse's famous Jeeves and Wooster stories were set. Furnishings are often antique, and all rooms have an individual character - particularly the luxury Allscot room, which has French windows opening onto its own private garden with views down to the River Worfe. With such tasteful historical decor, the hotel is also to be commended on its excellent disabled access, making it a treat for all.

Proprietors Sarah and David Blakstad have also added their personal touch to the restaurant, and the pair follow a philosophy that ensures a fine balance between formality and fun. Traditional dishes are prepared with locally-sourced produce to high culinary standards, ensuring a truly tasteful extension of your country village experience!
