Dining in the award winning restaurant at Northcote Manor is a great experience to say the least. Head Chef, Richie Herkes, has been awarded two rosettes for his cuisine. Dishes are freshly prepared to very high standards, using top drawer local ingredients. The restaurant does indeed have the enviable reputation of being one of the best in Devon with Richie's tireless insistence on top quality and fine presentation.

The location, too, is unbeatable: close to Exmoor and Dartmoor, next door to a golf club, 20 acres of grounds and woodlands, with a stretch of the Taw at the bottom of the drive where you can fish (gillie provided) and some of the best shooting in the country. It's quiet and beautiful surpassing all superlatives.

Leave the historic town of Torrington and head along the old railway line towards Petrockstowe and Meeth. Alternatively join the trail in Bideford and follow the river to the beauiful Instow estuary and beyond to the bustling town of Barnstaple. The trail offers diverse and picturesque North Devon scenery with a variety of long and shorter walks along a flat and beautifully maintained disused railway.
Take a champagne picnic to enjoy along the way or return to the hotel and indulge with a champagne afternoon tea in front of crackling log fires.
