This imposing baronial mansion house dates back to the 13th century when, it is believed, it was owned by a Knights Templar. The house was bought by the current owners from the Laird in 1995 and during the last few years it has undergone an extensive renovation programme. The owners have been keen to maintain the traditional atmosphere of the main house. Inside the public rooms are delightful with open log fires, fine antiques, original canvases and classical fabrics and furnishings. The bedrooms are pretty much as they were in the Laird's day, but with up-to-date comforts and facilities. The bedrooms in the Stable Block are contemporary in style yet remain full of Scottish character. These rooms also have iPod docking stations and WiFi. Meldrum's private golf club is one of Scotland's finest and boasts a world-class golf academy. Its immaculate hand-weeded and hand-cut course, one of very few in the country to measure over 7,000 yards, is open to hotel residents. Whether you're a golfer, a bride to be, a conference organiser or a tourist this hotel is definitely worth a visit.
