Lough Inagh Lodge is set on the shores of Lough Inagh, one of Connemara's most beautiful lakes. Sturdily built in the 1880s, this charming lodge hotel combines the comforts and pleasures of a modern hotel with its own old-world charm. The original lodge record books make fascinating reading for fishermen, and everyone can enjoy Ireland's finest panoramic views with morning coffee or afternoon tea in the sitting room. Each bedroom has a separate dressing room and fabulous vistas over the lake and the Twelve Bens mountains. Open log fires in the library and the oak-panelled bar symbolise the warmth of Inagh hospitality; on the table, seafood and wild game dishes are specialities of the house and are complemented by an excellent wine list. Amidst the most spectacular scenery in Ireland, visitors can fish, shoot, pony trek, cycle, play golf or simply relax. Outdoor action is unlimited, including game fishing on Lough Inagh, sea fishing within 10 miles, driven woodcock shooting, riding and golf. Irish craftware is available in the many shops at nearby Recess, Kylemore and Clifden. The Lodge is the ideal base for a tour of Connemara, and is surrounded by noted beauty spots, including Connemara National Park and Kylemore Abbey.
