More About Kinloch Lodge
Donald, who runs it as a small, very personal hotel with his wife, world-renowned cookery writer Claire Macdonald. In 1998 the Macdonalds expanded to 14 bedrooms with a new house, known as Kinloch, adjacent to the Lodge and in similar style.
The setting is romantic, beautiful and incomparably peaceful. Secluded between a wooded hillside and the sea loch on two sides, the surrounding area is fascinating for those who love and appreciate nature, with a wealth of notable flowers and plants, golden eagles on the hill behind the house, seals galore and a colony of otters. The bird life is varied and plentiful.
Here, in view of Skye and the spectacular Cuillin Hills, the Macdonalds offer the warmest hospitality from their family home. The atmosphere is very relaxed, with comfortable rooms decorated in traditional country-house style, log fires and an a la carte dinner that features the freshest of ingredients naturally available in season.
