It's a welcome surprise to find such a stylish contemporary boutique hotel in such a far flung corner of the country. The Hotel Hebrides is situated in the small village of Tarbert, which is the capital and main port of Harris, home to the famous Harris Tweed. Harris is known for its spectacular mountain scenery, unspoilt white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. It's an inspiring place to explore and provides a wonderful getaway from the hurly burly of modern life. Owners Angus and Chirsty Macleod have gone to great lengths to provide quests with a quality experience from start to finish - with no detail overlooked. The bedrooms are exceptionally chic and stylish with designer statement beds and bold colour schemes. In all the rooms you'll find crisp white linen, luxurious bath oils, state-of-the-art TVs and Wi-Fi. The deluxe rooms have king-size beds, iPod/MP3 docking stations and harbour views. The contemporary restaurant exceeds all expectations and is unstarchy and full of atmosphere. Head Chef Richard Agnew uses the finest and freshest Hebridean produce to create what Richard describes as 'unpretentious' dishes - such as Harris scallops with beetroot, salt and chilli squid, and seared local mackerel with chorizo.
