More About Hotel Endsleigh
Bedford. Endsleigh's interior, designed by Olga Polizzi, features an unpretentious and lively mix of simple textures, linen, antique furniture, contemporary art and period Regency panelling. The attention to detail is extraordinary, from a veranda made from sheep's knuckles to stone seats built-in to the enormous fireplaces.
The excellent restaurant occupies the original dining room and provides stunning views to the garden below, and onwards across open countryside to the wooded hilltops of Dartmoor beyond. The chef sources the very best local and organic produce, and the diverse menu features numerous dishes which are prepared according to traditional English recipes.
There are 108 acres of woodland and gardens to explore, including some of the best salmon and trout fishing spots in England. The hotel is a member of Endsleigh Fishing Club, so take one of the hotel's poles and fish to your heart's content, or play croquet on the lawn, visit one of the huge variety of National Trust houses and garden nearby, take a ramble across the moor, shop in the charming market town of Tavistock, or simply read a good book from the well-stocked library in one of the house's quiet nooks and crannies.
