An amazing, unique place Steve Crane, London
A personal touch of luxury in unspoilt north Norfolk

Secluded, intimate luxury awaits you when you escape to this charming retreat in an unspoilt corner of beautiful north Norfolk. A stone's throw away from miles of sandy beaches and quaint market towns, Felbrigg Lodge is a Bed and... More About Felbrigg Lodge Breakfast with a unique elegance and personal touch. 'I know how I would like to be looked after when I go away, and it really is the little things that count,' says Dee Dee Lomax who, with husband Philip, has owned and run Felbrigg Lodge for almost 30 years. Whether it's a therapeutic massage, long walks and log fires or a scenic helicopter ride, Felbrigg Lodge is the perfect place to de-stress. The hotel's individually-decorated private suites are graceful and plush - four-poster beds, elaborate wallpaper, tassels, frills and luxurious bathrooms. Like a dining car on the Orient Express, the elegant and intimate Ivy Restaurant prides itself on its home-cooked food using the finest and freshest local ingredients, including the famous Cromer crab, a delicacy from the nearby fishing town. Cromer, as well as Holkham and Overstrand, is home to glorious miles of sandy beaches that are superb all year round. North Norfolk is also angler's dream with trout and sea fishing opportunities aplenty. For a day of refined shopping, make sure to visit Holt, a Georgian market town with an array of delicatessen, fine china and antique shops. Felbrigg Lodge is also close to Norwich, steeped in history with its magnificent cathedral and castle museum.
