Farthings Hotel and Restaurant

Each of the 11 en-suite bedrooms are tastefully decorated and in the award-winning restaurant, the emphasis is on good-quality English food and local produce, including Brixham fish, local meat and dairy. Beef and lamb are sourced from a butcher who has lived in Somerset all his life and whose mother still personally inspects the livestock; eggs are from the hotel's own flocks in the gardens. The restaurant has direct access to the gardens where drinks and canapés can be enjoyed on a warm summer's evening and in the winter the comfort and warmth of log fires in the cosy lounge or bar.

A short drive from the hotel will get you to the cathedral cities of Wells (the Bishop's Garden is a must), Bath, Exeter and the county town of Taunton, which is just five miles away. The Somerset and Dorset coast, Exmoor, Cheddar Gorge and the undulating Mendip hills are also convenient.
