The very mention of the Isle of Skye conjures up a marvellous world of poetry and gorgeous scenery. One of the most romantic spots from which to explore the beauty of Skye is Duisdale House, a lovely 4-star boutique hotel on the southern coast of the island. Set amid beautiful scenery and a wild coastal setting, Duidsale House is all about luxurious comfort amid stylish decor. The individually decorated contemporary bedrooms are sleekly elegant and boast either garden or sea views. Some have resplendent four-poster beds and all come with flat-screen televisions and all the luxurious extras you'd expect of a hotel of this calibre. The two AA Rosette restaurant features ingredients carefully sourced from small local producers on Skye, as well as from the rest of the Highlands. The scrumptious cuisine, combined with the rugged nearby mountain scenery, makes for an atmospheric and romantic stay. There is a heated Hydro pool in the 35-acre hotel gardens for the enjoyment of guests, plus lovely woodland walks to explore in the forest. Between April and September it's worth asking about the unique sailing trips on the owner's gorgeous luxury yacht, Solus na Mara.
