Cuillin Hills Hotel(Isle of Skye, Highlands, UK) |

Looking out across the hotel's manicured lawns and down the length of Loch Portree the view opens out on to the most incredible, uninterrupted panorama of the Cuillin Hills - Skye's famous and perilous mountain range. The hotel is situated just above Portree harbour with its pretty pink and blue buildings. Portree is the island's capital and the most central point from which to tour the whole of Skye. It is particularly well placed for the legendary landscape of the Trotternish Ridge which lies just to the north. The bedrooms are a blend of traditional and contemporary. They are very comfortable and well appointed and have a distinctive Highland flavour. With Skye being on the world tourist map the Cuillin Hills is used to delivering the exacting standards demanded by international travellers. There are many luxurious touches too with speciality Edinburgh Company teas and coffees, Walkers shortbread and, in the bathrooms, Arran Aromatics toiletries. Eating is an integral part of the Skye experience and Head Chef Robert MacAskill treats guests to largely traditional dishes made from the best local produce including, of course, plenty of exceptional seafood. This is also the place to try a glass of Talisker malt - the island's only whisky.
