Located near the picturesque market town of Ashbourne, just on the southern tip of the beautiful Peak District, Callow Hall sits regally amid 35 acres of lovely private gardens and woodlands. Built in the mid-nineteenth century as a private residence, the ivy-covered hall is now owned by the Hardman family, award-winning proprietors of the acclaimed East Lodge Country House Hotel. The original period features of Callow Hall bring you back in the elegant world of refined country house living. The bedrooms have all been individually designed are beautifully furnished, and the vistas across the surrounding Derbyshire Dales are stunning. Some rooms are equipped with traditional Victorian furniture, others favour a more modern design. All feature wonderfully comfy beds, fresh flowers, large screen TVs, internet access and luxurious bathrooms. Dining at Callow Hall is a delight. The menu features fine modern British cooking and Derbyshire's natural larder makes for the freshest of local ingredients, some of which are sourced in the kitchen's own private garden outside. Recent dishes included seared scallops with roast pork belly, followed by boned roast quail with homemade sausage & onion farce, Bramley apple, winter kale and quail and red wine reduction sauce. Nearby are all the scenic delights of Derbyshire and the Peaks, including splendid Chatsworth, angling in the hotel's own private section of Bentley Brook, delightfully unspoilt walks across Dovedale, family fun at Alton Towers, antiques hunting in Ashbourne and more.
