This handsome Georgian manor house, and former family home, is situated in a small village deep in rural Somerset. It is a great find for a few days rest and relaxation and, with the A303 just a hop, skip and a jump away, it's also a good stopping off point on longer journeys to and from Devon and Cornwall. The property has been completely restored in recent years. The interiors have been tastefully decorated and furnished and many original features have been retained. The bedrooms are very comfortable. Guests will find top quality mattresses, Italian cotton sheets, flat screen TVs, plus power showers and excellent quality toiletries in the bathrooms. Ash House's award-winning chef takes great care obtaining seasonal fresh produce from all the best local suppliers. The seasonally changing menu includes mouthwatering dishes such as Somerset 28 day aged fillet of beef with tempura baby vegetables, spring onion rosti and port jus. Meals are served in either the traditional and cosy dining room or else the airy Orangery Brasserie, which is framed on all sides by the hotel's lovely gardens. After dinner the 'snug' bar, with its open log fire, is the perfect place to unwind. Nearby you will find a host of National Trust houses and gardens.
