British Summer Music Festivals 2014

Summer is the best time to enjoy some great outdoor music festivals. There is something for everyone’s taste and plenty of opportunities to listen to different types of music.

Here is our top pick of upcoming music festivals:

1. Middle of Nowhere Music Festival, Staffordshire – This festival will be taking place from 18-20th July at Lower Drayton Farm. Many bands and artists will be playing live such as Dr Feelgood, The Mona Lisa Twins, and Gin Sunday. This eclective music selection has something for everyone, so families are encouraged to attend! On the grounds, there will be a licensed bar and areas to set up camp for the day. For more information on the festival, and to book, click here.

2. LoveBox Festival, London – We had to include one London festival! This edgy music festival will take place on the 18th and 19th July in Victoria Park and feature artists such as M.I.A, Chase and Status, and Katy B. Along with great music, LoveBox will also have amazing food such as Bonnie Gull, Smokey Tails, and, of course, Nandos. The tickets are selling out fast for this popular two day festival, so make sure to book your tickets here if you want to reserve your spot!

After dancing and singing all day to these awesome musicians, you will want a comfortable place to sleep. St Ermin’s is just around the corner from Victoria Park, easily walkable, and near many other parks and attractions if you want to explore a bit. Relax in a fluffy white robe after you walk up the magnificent and grand marble staircase to get to your plush room. If you fancy honey with your tee, there are 20,000 Buckfast bees living at the hotel (not close to your room!) whose fresh honey is served in the hotel’s award winning restaurant.

3. Global Gathering, Stratford-Upon-Avon – This huge and energetic electronic music festival will take place in the Long Marston Airfield on the weekend of 25th and 25th July. With artists such as David Guetta and The Prodigy, it’s sure to be a super fun time. Global Gathering is in their 13th year of concert and have been a success all over the world. Over 50,000 people have attended this festival in the past so it’s a popular one! Find out more information here.

Walton Hall Hotel is a lovely, historic manor set in the countryside, but still very close to Global Gathering music festival. After all day and night of being around thousands of people, it will be a nice, quiet retreat. There is a refreshing swimming pool in the hotel, as well as a steam room to relax in after a quick dip. If you have a free day Sunday after the festival, you will be in the heart of Shakespeare country and there are numerous activities to do before you head home.
