Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palace, and the Palace of Holyroodhouse are the Official residences of the Sovereign and are used by The Queen as both a home and office. The Queen's personal standard flies when Her Majesty is in residence. Furnished with works of art from the Royal Collection, these buildings are used extensively by The Queen for State ceremonies and Official entertaining. They are opened to the public as much as these commitments will allow. A significant proportion of Windsor Castle is opened to visitors on a regular basis including the Upper and Lower Wards, the North Terrace with its famous views towards Eton, Queen Mary's Dolls House, the State Apartments including St. George's Hall, the Crimson Drawing Room and other newly restored rooms. Opening Times March - October: Daily except Good Friday & 15 June. 10am - 5.30pm (last admission 4pm). November - February: Daily except 25/26 December. 10am - 4pm (last admission 3pm). The State Rooms are closed during Royal visits. Opening arrangements may change at short notice
