Farms
|
Jersey's long tradition of perfume making is continued on this working farm with fields of cultivated lavender and the distillery and bottling rooms. To allow visitors to gain a complete picture of the farm's activities there is a video presentation with its story of lavender through the season from snow-covered fields to harvest time in late June to mid August. Other plants such as rosemary, cypress, bay, eucalyptus, marjoram and peppermint are distilled before and after the lavender harvest. For keen plant lovers the farm has achieved National Collection Status for its 60 species and cultivars of lavender believed to be the largest in Britain. All plants are botanically labelled and most are for sale. There is also a significant collection of 56 different varieties of bamboos. Open during the summer season. Tea Room, Gift Shop and Herb Garden. There is free parking and easy access and facilities for the disabled
