One of the first and finest landscape gardens in Europe

Known as a supreme creation of the Georgian era. Its green valleys and vistas are set with lakes, monuments and temples, created and developed throughout the 18th century by some of our greatest designers and architects including Vanbrugh, Kent, Gibbs and `Capability' Brown, who began his career here. Finest of all the garden buildings is the great Temple of Concord and Victory which celebrates Britain's success in the Seven Years War. Opening Times: Gardens - 20 Mar - 11 Apr: daily. 12 Apr - 4 Jul: Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun. 5 Jul - 5 Sept: daily. 6 Sept - 31 Oct: Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun. 11 - 23 Dec: daily, 10am - 5pm or dusk if earlier. Last admission 1 hr before closing.
