One of Stanley Spencer's greatest achievements
Considered by many to be one of Stanley Spencer's greatest achievements, Sandham will intrigue anyone with an interest in 20th century art. The Chapel is a First World War memorial built in the 1920s and the paintings by Stanley Spencer of war scenes in Salonica cover the chapel walls. Opening times: Apr - end Oct: Wed - Sun & BH Mon, 11.30am - 5pm (closed Wed following BH Mon). Mar - Nov: Sat & Sun, 11.30am - 4pm. Dec - Feb: by appointment
