A thousand years of history
It is difficult to say when Prinknash first makes its appearance in the documentary history. It may well be over a thousand years, for according to a venerable antiquary, Gloucester was erected into a county by King Alfred (c.890), and in a list of these Hundreds, Prinknash is included with the distinction of being extra-parochial.
