One of the world's great gardens, situated in the foothills of the Wicklow Mountains. It is a sublime blend of formal gardens, sweeping terraces, statuary and ornamental lakes together with secret hollows, rambling walks, walled gardens and over 200 varieties of trees and shrubs. (Powerscourt House incorporates an exhibition on the history of the estate, a terrace caf‚ overlooking the gardens and speciality shops.) 5km from the gardens is Powerscourt Waterfall, the highest in Ireland.
