Originally laid out in 1675 by Sir Alexander Seton
The centrepiece of this property is the Great Garden which was originally laid out in 1675 by Sir Alexander Seton, 1st Baronet of Pitmedden. The elaborate designs, inspired by the garden at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, have been painstakingly recreated for the enjoyment of visitors. The 100 acre estate contains the very fine Museum of Farming Life, which presents a vivid picture of the lives and times of bygone days when the horse was the power in front of the plough and farm machinery was less complicated than it is today. Opening Times: Garden, visitor centre, museum, grounds and other facilities: 1 May - 30 Sept: daily, 10am - 5.30pm, last admission 5pm
