Fine collection of paintings and a lovely private chapel
Late 16th century Elizabethan home of the Blount family. Original plaster ceilings, great oak staircase, fine collection of paintings and a private chapel in Strawberry Hill Gothic added in 1797. Interesting literary connections with Alexander Pope, Galsworthy's Forsyte Saga and Kenneth Graham's Wind in the Willows. 15th century watermill fully restored producing flour and bran which is sold in the giftshop.
