England's best preserved medieval town.
Narrow lanes and streets reveal timber-framed houses, pastel washed cottages, craft, gift and tea shops. The church tower of 141ft is a local landmark for miles around. Together with the nearby towns of Long Melford and Sudbury, this became the centre of the cloth industry which made this the wealthiest part of England.
