The heart of the Connemara mountains
Set in the heart of the Connemara mountains. Kylemore is a premier tourist attraction, international girls' boarding school, a magnificent gothic church, superb restaurant, pottery and one of the finest craft shops in Ireland. Victorian Walled Garden opens Easter 1999, currently undergoing restoration. The walls stretch for over half a mile to enclose: the kitchen garden, flower or pleasure garden, gardener's cottage, bothy and the glass (hot) house complex. The Benedictine Nuns at Kylemore continue to restore the estate and open it to the education and enjoyment of all who visit.
